My Fav Activewear Brands
Just a heads up, this post is not sponsored, I just love these activewear brands and wanted to share them with you!
I've always loved fashion, and started out collecting and selling vintage clothing online. I eventually wanted to learn how to design and sew my own clothes and completed a 3 year course in fashion design and technology. So it was only natural that when I started working out, I wanted to look cute haha. At the start, I didn't have any activewear bar my old basketball shorts from 10 years ago. Kmart has a great selection of activewear, affordable and great basics to get you started. Just don't wonder into the homewares section, you won't come out alive! I also bought some crops for about $10 from Target which I still have and love! Look out for sales, I was able to get some great stuff from David Jones during their sale, including half price Bonds and L'urv. When I was in the USA earlier this year, I bought a cute set from Forever 21 and they have an awesome selection. They ship to Australia too so check them out!
At the start, this is what I lived in. My sister also bought lots of expenno booty shorts from Lululemon which I was able to steal when she went to the US. What else are sisters for?! So thanks Soph!
I have been fortunate enough that as my following grows, brands send me activewear to try out. I've tried loads of activewear and these are a few of my favourites:
I love this brand as the quality is really top notch. The fabric is a thick, tight, stretchy cotton blend and I love the mesh panels. My favourite piece is the Teaser Crop Legging which I have in both black and white. I love the length and the fit, they are super comfy but so fashion!
Titika probably has the biggest selection of crops I've ever seen with close to 80 different styles, not to mention numerous colour ways to choose from. I love their crops, the quality is really good and there's always an interesting detail, such as criss cross straps, mesh or lace. The price point is great as well with most crops starting at $58USD. My favourite piece from this collection is the Bellamy Jacket. I wear it EVERYWHERE. I feel très chic in it, and it's replaced my scraggly hoodie but is just as comfy. WIN.
Flexi Lexi Fitness
Probably the most questions I get asked when it comes to my activewear, are for these leggings, the Coral Pink Flexi Dancer Leggings. They are seriously cute and ironically are part of their "Dance" collection. Anyone whose seen me in da club at 3am knows I am a terrible dancer. These leggings are great for yoga, though you could also prance around the gym in them as well. Be warned though, I'm positive you won't get much of your workout done, as you'll have women asking you where you bought them!
If you're part of the #BBGcommunity you'll have probably seen these leggings make an appearance on your Instagram feed. They are probably my favourite leggings to wear to the gym, super comfy but also stylish, plus they pass the squat test! For those that don't know, the squat test is pretty self explanatory, just perform a squat in front of a mirror and check to see if your leggings appear see through. I didn't know about the squat test when I started and was horrified when I did the test on one of my old favs to find out, that well, the guys in the gym were probably enjoying themselves quite a lot! Slightly mortified, I checked all my Lilybods' and I've given them 5 stars in the squat test!
Can you say farshion? This brand is amazing, from the quality to the styling, you can even customise your own tights in chosen colours and add your own monogram. Can you say fancy? FANCY. I packed so much activewear with me to Paris as I assumed I'd be walked around all day (which I did) but I soon realised, activewear isn't really a "thing" like it is in Australia. In Australia, activewear is kinda fancy, you leave the house in your activewear to go out to brunch, not to go workout. But peeps don't do this in Paree. I basically left all my activewear at the bottom of my suitcase but felt like my Captain Crop set from Alala was acceptable during fashion week.
So there you have it! Any questions, feel free to comment below. Now, I'm off to brunch in my activewear and I'll leave you with this:
