Best of Bali: My experience at Sahana Villas
If you follow me on my Instagram account you might have noticed I was recently in Bali. Being from Perth, Western Australia, Bali is one of my favourite places to visit. We always plan to "go down South" but once we calculate fuel and accomodation, it's actually cheaper for us to just go to Bali for the weekend!
I used to be sceptical of Bali, I came once with my family when I was 9 years old and didn't venture back until I was 26! I used to think Bali was all sunburns, stubbies and Bintang T-shirts but I was proved wrong when I stayed in Bali for a month in 2015. There's amazing restaurants, pool bars and lush villas, and I was lucky enough this time round to stay at one of them! I spent three magical days at the lovely Sahana Villas in Seminyak. Every other time I've stayed in Bali, I've stayed in Canggu which is a really cool area, but it is more difficult to get around. Canggu is for the salty haired surfer and Seminyak is for the shopper/degustation fiend. Although I like a dip every now and then, I prefer to stuff my face with tuna tartare and drink fancy cocktails.
The location at Sahana Villas couldn't be more perfect. It's just off the main restaurant street in Bali and basically next door to Gooseberry Intimates (bye bye all my moneys). It's close enough to the main street but just away from the hustle and bustle, we had no trouble getting to sleep in our cosy bed.
The villa is beautiful with a private pool, large open air kitchen, three bedrooms with king sized beds and large ensuite semi-outdoor bathrooms. There's even a giant inflatable pegasus for those who can't get enough of pool toys (hands up!). We had some a great time staying here and the staff couldn't have been more accomodating. When it was pouring down with rain, we were stuck inside and I was starting to get real hangry. I had a huge craving for Mcdonalds. (I know, I know, shoot me). One of the girls promptly returned with burgers, fries and chocolate sundaes! They organised a taxi to pick us up and take us to the airport, we enjoyed fresh juice, coconuts and a full continental breakfast every morning, plus everything was always clean and tidy. No request was too big or too small, we were really made to feel at home.
Think the villa looks pretty fab? Keep an eye on my Instagram as I'll be hosting a giveaway with Sahana Villas and you won't want to miss it!
